Facing the Layoff Head-On
A lazy girl guide to job security
Our world is changing rapidly, and job security is more myth than reality. Even as we work our fingers to the bone, companies are more focused on reducing costs than caring about our career trajectory. Yet instead of wallowing in fear and uncertainty, we can flip the script and take control. Here's how.

What's Up with Job Security?
You've probably heard the phrases - "I have job security", "I'm not worried about layoffs", and so on. But let's be honest, if you have to keep reminding yourself about your job security, it's not as secure as you think.
Observing the workplace is crucial. Are your colleagues stressed? Has your director's vocabulary taken on a more somber tone? If your gut is giving you a feeling that something's off, it's time to prepare.

Keep an Eye on Companies
We all have those dream companies we'd love to work for. Now is the time to follow them closely. No, don't stalk their CEOs, but keep tabs on their LinkedIn, watch out for hiring signals, and understand their current market status.
Fix your Circle
The holidays are here and you are bound to have a conversation about realatives about work. Be mindful about the advice they are giving you and how you feel when interacting with them. If it lights you up, great! If it you feel anything less, eliminate their opinions from your strategy.
